I am Heather Wisner, a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, receiving my education from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. I am certified in Emotional Eating and Gut Health. These are two of my passions because I have first hand experience with disordered eating and issues with my digestive health. I use my knowledge and passion for nutrition to educate my clients on how eating whole foods can lead to increased energy, better sleep, clearer skin, better digestion and metabolism, reduced stress and better overall health.

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. This includes career, relationships, physical activity and spirituality. When any of those things are out of balance, so it your health.

How my journey began

My journey started as a child, with chronic sinus and ear infections, IBS and acid reflux. In 2004, my mental and physical health spiraled in such an intense way it sent me into a 15-year search for healing. The search has been full of twists and turns, with some days so bad they felt too much to handle.

It started with foot pain, which left me highly medicated and severely depressed. I was unable to continue in my career, as my chosen field required me to be on my feet all day. Next came chronic strep throat, ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, CDIFF, SIBO, parasites, heel spurs, plantar fasciitis and bilateral numbing in my hands. I kept asking myself, what is causing all of this?

I sought out healers like acupuncturists, massage therapists, counselors and functional medicine doctors. I researched and listened to expert interviews, and I participated in webinars to educate myself on overall health and wellness. I have experimented with many physical activities, dietary changes and meditation therapies, which have all made a significant positive impact on my overall wellness. My journey inspired me to go back to school and become a Health & Wellness Coach. I am now able to use my knowledge and certification to help others who might be struggling to find a healthy life balance.

What is health & wellness coaching?

Health & wellness coaches partner with clients seeking to enhance their well-being through self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values. In the course of their work, health & wellness coaches display an unconditional positive regard for their clients and a belief in their capacity for change, honoring the fact that each client is an expert on their own life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental.
